Celebrating International Women's Day at ParkBee

In honour of International Women's Day, our Ladies of ParkBee group came together for our monthly lunch, where we shared stories of the incredible women who inspire us. These gatherings have become a cherished tradition—moments where we pause from daily operations to connect, reflect, and celebrate the women who have paved the way for us.

Inspiration from pioneers and everyday heroes

Our conversations ranged across generations and continents, highlighting women who have broken barriers and redefined what's possible. We spoke of pioneers like Emily Roebling, who stepped in to oversee the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge when her husband fell ill, becoming one of the first female field engineers. Her story reminds us that leadership often emerges from necessity and courage.

We celebrated athletes like Sifan Hassan, whose determination and versatility in distance running inspire us to push our own boundaries, and Mary Kom, the boxing champion who balanced motherhood with becoming a six-time world champion, proving that ambition doesn't require choosing between career and family.

We discussed thought leaders like Brené Brown, whose work on vulnerability and courage has transformed how we think about leadership, authenticity, and human connection in professional environments.

The everyday heroes who shape us

But our most powerful conversations centered on the everyday heroes—our mothers, grandmothers, and loved ones who have shaped our lives in countless ways. These are the women who taught us resilience through their actions, who sacrificed so we could have opportunities they never had, who believed in us before we believed in ourselves.

It was a powerful reminder that inspiration comes not only from well-known figures but also from those who support, guide, and uplift us every day. The grandmother who started her own business in a time when few women did. The mother who returned to education while raising children. The mentor who saw potential and created opportunities. The friend who offered honest advice during difficult decisions.

These stories rarely make headlines, but they shape careers, build confidence, and create the foundation for future generations of women in business, technology, and leadership.

Building inclusive culture at ParkBee

The Ladies of ParkBee group represents our commitment to creating spaces where women can connect, support each other, and grow professionally. In the male-dominated fields of technology and mobility, these connections matter. They provide mentorship, perspective, and community that strengthen both individuals and our organization.

Our monthly gatherings aren't just social events—they're opportunities to discuss challenges, share experiences, and build relationships that extend beyond project teams and departments. They remind us that we're part of something larger than our individual roles.

Celebrating women every day

To all the women juggling careers, families, ambitions, and challenges: you are seen, valued, and appreciated. Today and every day, we celebrate you.

We celebrate the product managers balancing sprint planning with school pickups. The engineers solving complex technical problems while navigating societal expectations. The sales professionals closing deals and breaking stereotypes. The operations leaders optimizing systems while mentoring the next generation.

We celebrate the women who speak up in meetings, who challenge assumptions, who bring different perspectives that make our solutions better. We celebrate those still finding their voice, knowing that creating space for authentic contribution takes time and support.

At ParkBee, we're committed to building a workplace where women can thrive, lead, and shape the future of urban mobility. International Women's Day reminds us of how far we've come and how much work remains to create truly equitable opportunities across our industry.

Looking forward

As we continue growing across Europe, we're committed to ensuring our team reflects the diversity of the cities we serve. The future of parking technology will be built by diverse teams bringing varied perspectives, experiences, and insights to complex urban challenges.

Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we continue the work of building inclusive environments where everyone—regardless of gender—can contribute their best work and reach their full potential.
